Ride to the Races — April 23, 2006

This was our first out-of-town day ride. The adventure began with breakfast at an IHOP in northwest Houston. We then joined a group from the Motorcycle Touring Association (MTA) for the ride up to Texas World Speedway (TWS), near College Station. The ride avoided US 290 altogether by taking much more enjoyable back roads. Once at TWS we lost our chance for group pictures. Everyone went their own way, watching the sprint races of the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA), exploring the paddock, chatting with the racers, and taking the spectator lap. Eventually everyone headed back home on their own or in small groups.
